Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you are able to spend your day with your loved ones giving thanks for all you are blessed with.  It is too easy in our busy, everyday lives to take everyone we have for granted.  Cherish every moment.

This year, we celebrated Thanksgiving this past weekend with my husband's side of the family.  We had lots of yummy food, spent time together, and helped my in-law's begin decorating their house for the Christmas season.

Today, we are spending a low key day at home as a family of three.  Since we already had a huge feast, we will be having a less traditional meal of steaks, sweet potato casserole, sautéed squash, and dinner rolls.  And cupcakes for dessert.  We will also be watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and lots of football.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's The Little Things: Bittersweet

Hello Hue Little Things

1) Celebrating my mom's birthday with a family lunch, homemade cake (made by me), and bowling/playing in the video game arcade.

2) Taking a walk through the gorgeous gardens at the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach.

3)  Shopping at Lilly Pulitzer with my girl:

4)  Visiting with my grandparents on Sunday morning.  My grandfather has been in ill health for the past month.  Tuesday 11/6/12 was their 71st wedding anniversary.  Such an amazing, beautiful accomplishment.  Here's the bittersweet:  my grandpa passed away that evening in his sleep.  I'm grateful I was able to visit him only a couple of days before and speak to him that evening.

5)  Browsing all the fun Christmas decor at Hobby Lobby today.  Also, Chick-Fil-A for lunch!

Lisa Leonard Designs Fundraiser

If you have seen the news reports and photos of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Sandy, then you know the clean up efforts will be ongoing for possibly months.  As I was browsing my Instagram feed this afternoon, I came across a photo by Lisa Leonard.  Lisa designs and makes stamped silver and gold jewelry.  She is the momma of two boys, one of which has special needs.  Her photos inspire me on a daily basis and her jewelry designs are beautiful.  She is one talented woman.

Lisa Leonard Designs is generously offering 10% of all sales starting today through this Sunday, 11/11 to the Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief.  If you add in the code: love&shelter, she will throw in a silver necklace for free.  Very generous, indeed.

I'm sure I've mentioned before that my daughter was born on Valentine's Day.  This is the necklace I choose today.  I will think of my sweet lil' Valentine every time I wear it.

And if my husband is reading this, this bracelet is on my birthday wish list:

Wordless Wednesday

We may not have trees that change colors and drop their leaves or much of a need for scarves, heavy coats and boots, but Fall in Florida is pretty much perfect.

It's The Little Things

Hello Hue Little Things
This has been such a crazy, busy, and fun week!
We kicked off the weekend with a visit to Downtown Disney to meet up with friends for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.  We haven't seen these friends (visiting from Philly) in over ten years!  It was also the first time meeting their kids.

Our last after school visit to Epcot (dinner) and Magic Kingdom (rides) before our Disney passes expired:

Halloween Recap

This Halloween, we hopped in the car to drive two hours south to surprise our family and friends.  It was so fun to see their faces as they turned around to see who pulled into the driveway.  We had friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dogs in attendance.  My mom made up a big batch of tacos and homemade White Castles for dinner.

My daughter dressed up as a kitty cat this year:
